Designed for tempered side and rear windows. It will not break laminated glass, such as the windshield.

The problem

Modern cars protect you in a crash. Getting out afterwards is another story.

After an impact, the things you rely on to leave the car may not work the way they normally do.

01

Power windows may stop working

Water, fire or a damaged electrical system can leave the window switch dead. You can't roll down what won't move.

02

Doors can jam

A bent frame or water pressure outside the car can make a door very hard to open, even when it's unlocked.

03

Seatbelts can lock in place

The same mechanism that holds you in a crash can stay locked under your weight, especially if the car is on its side.

The solution

Two exits in one tool, mounted where your hand can find it.

Spring-loaded window breaker

Press the tip against the glass and the internal spring does the work. No room to swing needed.

Built-in seatbelt cutter

Pull off the strap cap, hook the belt edge into the slot and push forward.

Fixed mount, fixed spot

Stick the base by the dash or center console so you always know where it is.

Nothing to charge

Knurled metal grip. No batteries, so it's ready when you need it.

When seconds count

  • Someone trapped insideA person or pet left in the car.
  1. Grab it: mounted beside the seat 1

    Grab it

It's mounted beside your seat, so you can reach it even with your belt on.

  2. Cut the belt with the U-slot 2

    Cut the belt

Pull off the strap cap, hook the belt edge into the U-slot and push forward in one motion.

  3. Break the window: press the head on a side window 3

    Press a window corner

Pull off the tip cap and press firmly on a lower corner of a side window. The spring fires and the glass shatters.

Important: Use on tempered side or rear windows only. Windshields and some side windows are laminated and won't shatter. Check for “laminated” on the small label in the corner of each window.

Glad I added it to my car

I like that the tip is capped so it will not scratch my interior. The recessed belt blade is properly sharp yet safe to have loose in a car. You could spend more and not get a better tool.

Works well with one caveat

I tested this on an old tempered side window and it shattered on the very first press. Great overall - I only wish the base were a little larger, so clean the surface well before sticking.

A must-have for new drivers

I tested this on an old tempered side window and it shattered on the very first press. The seatbelt cutter is razor sharp and one clean slice was all it took on a test strap. It takes up almost no space, which is why I finally keep it where I can reach it. You could spend more and not get a better tool.

My go-to gift for teens

I tested this on an old tempered side window and it shattered on the very first press. One pass of the cutter through an old belt convinced me it would clear a jammed buckle. Size is the best part - it disappears into a pocket yet still gets the job done. Such a practical upgrade for the money; I keep recommending it to everyone.

Small tool, big peace of mind

After the floods last year I decided to keep a real glass breaker within arm's reach. You could spend more and not get a better tool.

Should have bought this years ago

Three years as a volunteer firefighter and I always tell people to keep one of these handy. I was impressed at how cleanly the cutter went through a thick canvas strap. The small footprint means there is no excuse to leave it in the garage.

Broke the window on the first try

Everything I hoped for: fast punch, sharp cutter, tiny footprint, sturdy base. I was impressed at how cleanly the cutter went through a thick canvas strap. For a multi-pack the quality is genuinely surprising at this price.

Sharp cutter, strong breaker

I like that the tip is capped so it will not scratch my interior. The recessed belt blade is properly sharp yet safe to have loose in a car. It is compact enough for a purse but substantial enough to trust.

Tiny but mighty

The spring-loaded tip does the work for you, so it needs very little strength to fire. The seatbelt cutter is razor sharp and one clean slice was all it took on a test strap. Such a practical upgrade for the money; I keep recommending it to everyone.

Solid but a couple of things

A friend who got stranded in a storm finally convinced me to buy one. The seatbelt cutter is razor sharp and one clean slice was all it took on a test strap. Great overall - I only wish the base were a little larger, so clean the surface well before sticking.

This is the one to buy

Works well with one caveat

It fits in the door pocket, the center console, or clipped to the included base. One pass of the cutter through an old belt convinced me it would clear a jammed buckle. I wish it came with a small pouch for the ones I carry in a bag, but the hammer is excellent.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Still unsure? Email us at novmelo.official@gmail.com

Which windows can it break?

Tempered glass, which is used for most side and rear windows. It won't break laminated glass. Every windshield and some side windows are laminated. Look for “laminated” or “tempered” on the small label in the corner of each window.

How is it different from a regular safety hammer?

A traditional hammer needs room to swing and force behind it. The spring-loaded tip only needs firm pressure, so it's easier to use in a tight space or at an awkward angle.

Does it work underwater?

It doesn't rely on a swing, so it's easier to use when water slows your movement. In a sinking car, act early: cut your belt and open a side window before water pressure builds.

Where should I mount it?

Somewhere the driver can reach while belted in: beside the center console, on the lower dash, or by the gear selector. Avoid airbag zones and keep it clear of the driver's view.

Can I just use the headrest instead?

Some headrests can be pulled out and used on glass, but it often takes strength, a good angle and time, and many aren't designed to come out easily.

Does it need batteries?

No. It's fully mechanical.

Is it safe around children?

The seatbelt cutter is recessed under the strap cap, and the breaker tip needs firm pressure to release. Treat it like any tool and keep it mounted, not loose in the back seat.

How many should I get?

One for every car you and your family drive. Each tool is meant to stay mounted in one vehicle. Buy 2 saves 20% and ships free, Buy 3 saves 30% and adds the Car Escape Plan guide (emailed with your order confirmation), and Buy 4 or more saves 40%.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 1–3 business days and usually arrive in 7–14 business days, with tracking. Shipping is free on orders of 2 or more tools; a single tool ships for $4.95.

What if it arrives damaged, or I change my mind?

If your order arrives damaged, you get the wrong item, or it never arrives, email us a photo or your order number and we'll send a free replacement or refund you. Changed your mind? Return it unused within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the item price. Return shipping is paid by the customer; email us first and we'll send the return details.
